Meet Trump’s Pick for U.S. Attorney in New York: Joseph Nocella Jr.

Exciting news from the political world! President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Joseph Nocella Jr. as his pick for the next U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. So, what does this mean? Well, this office covers a large area, including the bustling counties of Kings, Nassau, Queens, Richmond, and Suffolk—and it’s a pretty big deal.

Currently, the office is held by Breon Peace, but Nocella is ready to take the reins. Here’s what Trump had to say about him:

“Judge Nocella has a fantastic track record of bringing law and order to New Yorkers. He has served as both a Nassau County District Court Judge and a Family Court Judge,” Trump shared in his statement. Strong words for a man with a solid reputation!

But there’s more to Nocella than just his job titles. Trump also highlighted his impressive education—he graduated from Columbia Law School, which is no small feat. He went on to spend over a decade in private practice, and even clerked for U.S. District Judge Lawrence M. McKenna. Oh, and did I mention he was an assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York back in the 1990s?

As if all that weren’t enough, Nocella also served as the town attorney for the Town of Oyster Bay—a beautiful spot on the North Shore of Nassau County.

Trump wrapped up with a big congratulations, saying, “Congratulations Judge Nocella!” So, what do you think about the pick? It seems like Nocella is ready for this next big step in his career!
