Sen. Graham: I’m Ready to Support Patel for FBI Director

Senator Lindsey Graham recently spoke on “Face the Nation,” where he strongly backed Kash Patel as a qualified candidate for FBI Director. The South Carolina Republican dismissed concerns from former Attorney General Bill Barr, who had questioned Patel’s qualifications for such a high-profile position. Barr argued that Patel lacked the necessary experience to lead the FBI, but Graham disagreed.

“I trust my friend, Trey Gowdy, who has worked closely with Kash,” Graham said. He explained that Patel had experience as a public defender and prosecutor, and worked alongside Gowdy on the Russia investigation, making him well-prepared for the job.

Graham’s support for Patel also comes from the trust Patel has earned from President Trump and other key Republicans, including Gowdy, who is excited about Patel’s potential.

However, when host Margaret Brennan asked Graham about Patel’s past actions regarding journalists, Graham got defensive. He argued that people should focus on the fairness of the news being reported, particularly regarding Trump, instead of criticizing Patel.

Brennan responded with a calm reminder that the show was giving him a platform to speak his mind. Despite the tense moment, she assured him that they would welcome him back on the show in the future.
