Severe Flooding Closes Key Roads in Kentucky: Drivers Urged to Avoid High Water

High water is currently affecting several roads across the Heartland, with a flood watch in effect through early Friday morning. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is advising drivers to turn around if they encounter high water, as conditions continue to impact travel.

As of 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, the following roads in Kentucky are affected by flooding:

Carlisle County:

  • U.S. 62 is closed due to high water between the 3 and 4-mile markers near the West Fork Creek Bottoms.

Fulton County:

  • KY 94 (Lower Bottoms) is closed due to high water between 9.1 and 10.9-mile markers, from Parker Lane to the 1099 Bypass.
  • KY 94 (Willingham Bottoms) is closed due to high water between 23.44 and 25.5-mile markers, from KY 781 to Jeffress Road.
  • KY 1128 remains open with high water at the 3.85-mile marker near Mud Creek.

Graves County:

  • KY 1283 is closed between the 2.9 and 3.2-mile markers, from Frazier Road to KY 58.
  • KY 58 is closed between the 0 and 1-mile markers, east of the Hickman-Graves County Line near the KY 1283 intersection.
  • U.S. 45 South is closed between the 0 and 2-mile markers in the Water Valley Community.

  • KY 307 North (Beulah Bottoms) is closed between the 12 and 15-mile markers, from KY 703 to KY 1748.
  • U.S. 51 North is closed between the 8.9 and 10.3-mile markers, from KY 1728 to KY 1540.
  • U.S. 51 South (Greenway Bottoms) is closed between the 2 and 3-mile markers.
  • KY 58 is closed between the 7 and 8-mile markers in the Cane Creek area.
  • KY 2206 is closed between the 0 and 1-mile markers, from KY 703 East to Rebiel Road.
  • KY 780 is closed between the 2 and 3-mile markers.
  • KY 1283 is closed between the 1 and 2-mile markers near the Hickman-Graves County Line.

Lyon County:

  • KY 293 is open with high water at the 1.2-mile marker in the Glass Creek area.
  • KY 1943 is closed between the 3 and 4-mile markers near Skinframe Creek Bridge.

Marshall County:

  • KY 1462/Benton-Birmingham Road is closed between the 0 and 1.2-mile markers, from KY 408/E. 12th Street to KY 1477/Benton Briensburg Road.

McCracken County:

  • KY 3529/Maxon Road is closed between U.S. 60 and Old U.S. 60 due to high water.
  • KY 1255/Bonds Road is closed between the 0.0 and 2.3-mile markers, from KY 348/Hardmoney Road to KY 450/Oaks.

Motorists are urged to remain cautious and heed road closure warnings due to ongoing flood conditions.
