A 16-year-old boy from Lincoln has been charged after he allegedly assaulted a 17-year-old classmate.
This all started when the Lincoln Police Department received reports of a sexual assault at a local high school on December 9.According to court documents, the incident took place a week before the police got involved.
The girl told officers that during lunch, she and the boy decided to leave school and ended up in a partially enclosed area near some trash bins. It was in this secluded spot that things took a disturbing turn.
The girl claimed that once they were in the trash area, the boy began to strangle her and assaulted her. She managed to get him to stop by saying she would be late returning to class and might get in trouble at home.
On Wednesday morning, police arrested the boy. He now faces serious charges, including first-degree sexual assault and assault by strangulation or suffocation. Currently, he is being held at the Youth Detention Center.
