Shocking Crime: 17-Year-Old Arrested After Parents Found Dead in Their Home

A 17-year-old boy from Wisconsin, Nikita “Niki” Casap, is facing charges related to the deaths of his parents. Casap appeared in court for the first time on Monday following his arrest in Kansas. He is facing legal action after his mother, Tatiana Casap, and stepfather, Donald Mayer, were found dead on Friday night in their home in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Judith Mayer, the suspect’s grandmother and mother of Donald Mayer, expressed her grief, saying she is struggling to cope with the tragic event. She described the loss as unbearable and said she has yet to find a way to move forward.

According to the criminal complaint, Casap had been absent from Waukesha West High School for two weeks before a school resource officer and Judith Mayer requested a welfare check at the family home. Previously, the teenager had maintained perfect attendance. When police arrived at the residence, they discovered the bodies of Tatiana Casap and Donald Mayer with dried blood surrounding the scene. Authorities noted that the suspect had left in the family vehicle, taking a gun and the family dog with him.

Law enforcement tracked Casap’s movements through his phone, which was pinged in multiple states, including Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado. On Saturday, officers conducted a traffic stop in WaKeeney, Kansas, where he was arrested, and evidence was recovered.

Casap is currently facing two felony charges for operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and theft of movable property. He appeared in a virtual extradition hearing in the Trego County District Court in Kansas on Monday, where a magistrate judge granted Wisconsin authorities until March 15 to return him to Waukesha.

While Casap has not been formally charged in connection with his parents’ deaths, his grandmother is struggling to accept the possibility that he may have been involved. She stated that it is difficult for her to comprehend how such a tragedy could have occurred.

A hearing is scheduled for March 17 to confirm that Casap has been extradited back to Wisconsin, where further legal proceedings will take place.
