CHICAGO – A high-speed chase involving a stolen SUV ended in a dramatic crash on Chicago’s North Side early Wednesday morning, leaving three suspects in police custody.
According to Chicago police, the chaotic scene unfolded around 12:52 a.m. when officers patrolling near the 300-block of West Fullerton Avenue spotted a stolen beige SUV. As authorities attempted a traffic stop, the driver of the SUV refused to comply, speeding away in a desperate attempt to escape.
The chase took a dangerous turn when the vehicle lost control and slammed into a concrete post in the 2100-block of West Fullerton Avenue. Police quickly moved in, arresting three men at the scene. In a shocking discovery, officers also recovered two firearms from the suspects.
Emergency responders transported two of the individuals to a nearby hospital as a precaution, though both were reported to be in good condition.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the suspects, and charges remain pending as the investigation continues.
