Shocking Video: Reckless Driver Barely Misses Student Crossing Street

West Virginia authorities have released a video showing a driver illegally speeding past a stopped school bus and nearly hitting a student who was crossing the street. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office announced that the driver involved in the incident was later identified and taken into custody.

Kevin Webster, a resident of Saint Albans, was arrested and is now facing multiple charges. Deputies reported that Webster was driving a Lincoln sedan when he unlawfully crossed a double yellow line to pass the school bus, which had its stop signs extended at the time. The bus was stopped to allow a student to exit safely, but Webster’s actions put the child in immediate danger.

Authorities also revealed that security footage captured Webster pulling into a 7-Eleven store just moments before the incident occurred. This additional evidence contributed to the investigation and further scrutiny of his driving behavior. During an interview at the Western Regional Jail, investigators obtained evidence leading to an additional charge related to driving under the influence. Officials determined that Webster was a habitual drug user, which played a role in the charges filed against him.
