In Spartanburg, South Carolina, a Waffle House on Garner Road became the scene of a puzzling discovery when the restaurant manager noticed bullet holes on the backside of the walk-in freezer. The unusual finding was made around 1 p.m. on Thursday, leaving everyone wondering what had happened.
According to the police, it turns out the incident occurred earlier in the week, on New Year’s Day at around 4 a.m. The restaurant staff told the manager that someone had fired several rounds at the building. Amazingly, no one was hurt, and the employees decided to continue working despite the scare.
When officers arrived, they found that the outside of the freezer had three bullet holes. One of the bullets went through the corner of the freezer before hitting a parking barrier, while another pierced the wall and ended up inside the freezer itself. A silver bullet was also spotted lying in the parking lot nearby.
The Waffle House manager had already picked up some of the shell casings, but many were still scattered around the roadway. By the end of the investigation, officers counted a total of 25 casings near the restaurant.
Despite the chaos of the situation, no injuries were reported. The police are still looking into the matter, trying to piece together what led to this unusual start to the year. For now, the Waffle House continues serving its famous waffles, with staff and customers hoping for quieter days ahead.
