In Porterville, California, a routine traffic stop turned into a major bust on the morning of December 13, 2024. It all started around 10:19 A.M., when a Porterville Police Department officer pulled over a vehicle in the 100 block of North Prospect Street. What seemed like a regular stop quickly escalated.
The driver, 51-year-old Darryll Kedrowski from Strathmore, was found driving with a suspended license. That was just the tip of the iceberg. A deeper investigation revealed a loaded revolver inside the vehicle. Officers also discovered about half an ounce of methamphetamine, acid tabs, and drug paraphernalia. To make matters worse, there was evidence suggesting that Kedrowski planned to sell the methamphetamine.
As the investigation continued, officers determined Kedrowski was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the stop. Being a convicted felon, he wasn’t allowed to possess firearms or ammunition, making the situation even more serious.
Kedrowski was arrested on multiple charges, including being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possessing drugs with the intent to sell, and driving with a suspended license. He is currently being held at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department South County Detention Facility, with bail set at $75,000.
The case has been forwarded to the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office for further review. This arrest highlights the important work of law enforcement in keeping the community safe.
