A second teen has been arrested after a shooting in Nashville left a man injured when he tried to stop car burglars, police said.
Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said 19-year-old William Hope was charged with attempted murder after a man was shot in the hip on February 12. The shooting happened on Del Sol Drive when the victim saw people near his truck and yelled at them from his bedroom window. Moments later, shots were fired into the house, hitting the 35-year-old man.
Hope was arrested without any trouble at a fast-food restaurant in Lebanon after detectives from MNPD’s Specialized Investigation Division followed a car he was believed to be riding in.
This arrest comes just days after police arrested another suspect, 19-year-old Jordan Worthington, on February 14. Worthington was caught during a traffic stop in Hermitage, where officers also found a .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol in his car.
Both teens face serious charges. Along with attempted murder, they are charged with attempted vehicle burglary, felony reckless endangerment, and two counts of aggravated assault because the victim’s wife and young child were in the room when the shots were fired.
Despite the arrests, the neighborhood remains shaken by the incident as the community hopes for increased safety and justice.
