A terrifying situation unfolded in Houston when a 15-year-old boy allegedly shot his mother and older sister after reportedly having a bad reaction to a large amount of THC edibles. The teen, whose name hasn’t been released, made a chilling 911 call, telling the dispatcher that he was going to harm someone — or himself.
When police arrived at the home, they found his mother and 17-year-old sister suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
According to Houston police, the teen had been hanging out with an adult and another teenager when they all consumed the edibles. Things took a dark turn when the 15-year-old started having a bad reaction. Witnesses said they tried to calm him down, but when they started laughing at his behavior, things escalated. That’s when the teen allegedly grabbed a gun and opened fire.
The situation became even more dangerous when firefighters responding to the scene encountered the teen. Reports say he pointed the gun at them before dropping it and running away. Fortunately, no first responders were hurt.
The teen has since been taken into custody and is expected to face serious charges, including aggravated assault. As his mother and sister fight for their lives, the community is left grappling with the shocking violence and the role drugs may have played in this heartbreaking incident.
