A suspect involved in a stabbing incident at a gas station in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, has been arrested. According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, investigators identified 33-year-old Timothy Wayne Bishop of Poplar Bluff as the suspect after reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing potential witnesses.
The stabbing occurred on the night of February 9 at Casey’s General Store, located in the 500 block of East Pine Boulevard. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 10:39 p.m. and found a 40-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds. The victim informed authorities that she did not know her attacker. She was initially transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff before being airlifted to another medical facility. Her current condition has not been disclosed.
On February 10, investigators located Bishop at his residence and conducted an interview. During questioning, he reportedly admitted to the attack, stating that it was a random act and that he had no prior connection to the victim. Following the interview, authorities arrested Bishop and booked him into the Butler County Justice Center. He is facing multiple charges, including first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and tampering with physical evidence.
