A 42-year-old man from Carpentersville, Saul Alba, is facing serious charges after causing a deadly wrong-way crash on the Eisenhower Expressway near Hillside early Sunday morning.
Details of the Crash
According to the Illinois State Police, the accident happened at 4:17 a.m. on Interstate 290 near Wolf Road. Alba was driving in the wrong direction when he crashed into three other vehicles.

Victims of the Crash
- Andy Orozco, 61, one of the drivers involved, was taken to the hospital but sadly did not survive.
- Another driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also hospitalized.
- Alba himself sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Charges Against Alba
Police say that Alba was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He has now been charged with three felony counts of aggravated driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol.
