Authorities in northwest Houston are investigating a tragic hit-and-run incident that left one man dead. The incident happened near 14700 Hempstead Road, close to the Jersey Village area.
The man was walking along Hempstead Road when he was struck by a car. The driver of this car stopped immediately and tried to help him.
Tragically, while this driver was attempting to provide aid, a second vehicle, described as a white truck, ran over the man. Instead of stopping, the truck driver fled the scene, leaving investigators searching for answers.
Hempstead Road has been closed in both directions as authorities carefully examine the scene to piece together what happened. The closure is expected to continue until the investigation wraps up.
