Authorities in Boston have charged 24-year-old Nora Nelson with murder in connection with the death of 65-year-old attorney Joseph Donohue, who was found deceased on a houseboat in a marina over the weekend. The Boston Police Department reported that officers discovered Donohue’s body on the evening of Sunday, February 2, after responding to a welfare check requested by his son. The son had grown concerned after not hearing from his father for some time.
Donohue was found with multiple stab wounds, and his death is being investigated as a homicide. Initially, police arrested Nelson at the scene on unrelated warrants. However, on Thursday, she was formally charged with Donohue’s murder. Authorities have not disclosed any possible motive for the crime.
Additionally, law enforcement sources reported that Donohue’s dog was also found dead in the water near the houseboat. However, the nature and cause of the dog’s death remain unclear. Boston police declined to provide further details on this aspect of the case.
Donohue, a well-respected attorney and a divorced father of three, was known for his dedication to helping others. In a statement shared with Boston 25 News, his family expressed their heartbreak over his tragic death. They described him as a wonderful family member, a cherished friend, and a trusted colleague, emphasizing that he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
