An elderly man lost his life late Monday night after his home came under heavy gunfire in Wayne County. Authorities identified the victim as 83-year-old Wilbert Stringfield.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Pecan Road in Dudley. Deputies arrived at the scene to find that multiple rounds had been fired into the residence. Preliminary investigations suggest that more than one gunman may have been involved in the attack.
