Trump’s Bold Warning to Putin: “Make a Deal, or Russia Faces Big Trouble

In a move that’s making headlines, just hours after taking office, President Donald Trump sent a powerful message to Russian President Vladimir Putin. He didn’t hold back, telling Putin that he’s “destroying Russia” and urging him to strike a deal with Ukraine to end the ongoing war.

Trump made his thoughts clear: “He has to make a deal. I think he’s destroying Russia by not making one.” He even warned that Russia could be in serious trouble if the war continues. “Most people thought this would be over in a week, but here we are, three years in,” Trump remarked, pointing out how long the conflict has dragged on.

The former president also highlighted inflation as a major threat to Russia, adding that the country’s economy is sinking under the weight of the war.

While Putin has repeatedly said he wants a resolution that benefits Russia, he’s open to talking with Trump. A phone call between the two leaders is expected soon, and Trump hinted at a potential face-to-face meeting down the road. During his first term, Trump enjoyed a “great relationship” with Putin, and it seems that connection might pave the way for new talks.

Putin, for his part, acknowledged Trump’s victory, expressing a willingness to engage in dialogue with the new U.S. administration. “The war between Russia and Ukraine should never have started,” he stated, emphasizing the need to eliminate the root causes of the conflict as quickly as possible.

In a light-hearted moment, Trump joked about his campaign promise to end the war in 24 hours. “That’s only half a day,” he quipped. “I have the other half of the day. We’ll see.”

Meanwhile, Putin reflected on the new U.S. administration’s desire to restore direct contact with Russia, something he welcomed. He also reiterated Russia’s openness to dialogue, stressing the importance of resolving the crisis that has been weighing heavily on international relations.

While tensions remain, both leaders seem to be hinting at the possibility of talks. Could a breakthrough be on the horizon? Only time will tell.
