Trump’s Border Plan: What You Need to Know

Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, has big plans if Trump wins a second term as president. In a recent interview, Homan shared his strategy for dealing with the surge of migrants crossing into the U.S. illegally—and it’s making waves.

His plan? Build “family facilities” where migrant families, including U.S.-born kids, can be housed temporarily before deportation. These “soft-sided” tent-like structures would hold tens of thousands of families at a time. But here’s the catch: Parents will get to choose whether to stay with their kids or be separated.

“We can do this without being inhumane,” Homan promised. “We want Americans to trust that we’ll handle this responsibly.”

This would be the biggest deportation operation in U.S. history, requiring $86 billion in funding and at least 100,000 beds for detainees. Congress would need to approve this hefty budget.

Homan also highlighted another alarming issue: 300,000 migrant children are missing in the U.S. Many are feared to be victims of forced labor or trafficking. “Some kids might be okay, but others are at risk. We just want to ensure their safety,” he said.

On top of this, Trump is pushing for more changes, like completing the southern border wall, ending birthright citizenship, and reviving the “Remain in Mexico” policy for asylum seekers.

As controversial as these plans are, Homan insists they’ll be targeted, focusing on those with criminal records, not sweeping raids.

What do you think? Could this reshape America’s approach to immigration?
