It’s early morning, just hours before President-elect Donald Trump is set to take office, and he’s already firing off some spicy thoughts on social media. This time, he’s not talking about policy or politics but taking aim at late-night talk show host Seth Meyers.
In a post just before 1:30 a.m., Trump didn’t hold back. “How bad is Seth Meyers on NBC, a ‘network’ run by a truly bad group of people?” he wrote on Truth Social. Apparently, he got “stuck” watching Meyers for the first time in months, and the experience left him feeling the need to vent. According to Trump, every time he tunes in, he feels “an obligation to say how dumb and untalented he is.”
But Trump’s criticism wasn’t just about Meyers—he had a bigger target in mind. He took aim at Comcast, the company behind NBC, suggesting that they were using late-night shows as political tools. “These are not shows or entertainment, they are simply political hits, 100% of the time, to me and the Republican Party,” he complained. And in true Trump style, he didn’t hold back when talking about what should happen next: “Comcast should pay a BIG price for this!”
Trump has a long history of calling out late-night hosts. He’s called Jimmy Kimmel “one of the dumbest human beings ever” and described Jimmy Fallon as “weak and pathetic.” He’s even gone after Stephen Colbert, calling him a “total loser.” But Kimmel seems to be his biggest target. Trump has taken shots at him more than anyone else—and at one point, he even reportedly tried to get Kimmel censored.
