A shocking argument over a WhatsApp group chat in northern Pakistan took a deadly turn when one of the members was fatally shot. The incident happened on Thursday, March 6, in Peshawar, a city about 116 miles from Islamabad.

According to police, the victim, Mushtaq Ahmed, had been managing a WhatsApp group when things got heated between him and another member, identified only as Ashfaq. After a disagreement in the chat, Ahmed decided to remove Ashfaq from the group — and that decision turned out to have tragic consequences.

Ahmed’s brother told authorities that Ashfaq was furious about being kicked out of the chat. Despite their issues, the two agreed to meet up and talk things out. But when Ashfaq showed up for the meeting, he wasn’t there to reconcile — he brought a gun. The meeting ended in tragedy as Ahmed was shot and killed.
