Chaos in Queens: 10 Injured in Late-Night Nightclub Shooting

At least ten people were rushed to the hospital after a shooting outside Amazura nightclub in Jamaica, Queens, on Wednesday night, according to the New York Police Department.

It all happened around 11:15 p.m. when a group of teenagers and young adults, aged 16 to 20, were standing outside the nightclub, waiting to attend a private event. Suddenly, four men approached the group on foot, and three or four of them started shooting.

The chaos erupted quickly, with around 30 shots fired before the gunmen ran off. They were later seen getting into a light-colored sedan with out-of-state license plates.

“This kind of violence has no place here,” said Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera during a press conference early Thursday. “There’s zero tolerance for these senseless shootings.”

The scene outside Amazura was intense, with police cars, ambulances, and flashing lights everywhere. Videos shared on social media showed the large police presence as emergency responders worked to help the injured.

Thankfully, all ten victims, including six women and four men, were rushed to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. According to Rivera, everyone is expected to recover.

Inside the nightclub, about 90 people were present when the shooting broke out, adding to the panic. While the motive behind the attack isn’t clear yet, police have ruled out terrorism.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and contact the New York Police Department.
