Two boys are facing charges in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, after being caught with firearms and counterfeit money. The Elizabeth City Police Department responded to a report around 12:25 p.m. of two boys sitting in a vehicle outside the 625 Building of Morgan Pointe Apartments. One of the boys was allegedly displaying a gun while wearing a ski mask.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers detained two individuals matching the description provided by the caller. During their search, police recovered a rifle, a handgun, and several fake twenty-dollar bills from the vehicle. As a result, the boys were charged with possession of a firearm by a minor, as well as resisting, delaying, or obstructing a law enforcement officer.
Additionally, one of the boys was charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer and felony possession of counterfeit U.S. currency. Both boys were taken into custody and transported to a juvenile detention facility, where they will face further legal proceedings.
