Deputies in Duplin County arrested four individuals on multiple charges related to firearms and drugs following a traffic stop. The Duplin County Sheriff’s Office reported that the arrests stemmed from a call received late at night regarding individuals with a gun in the Quinn Estates Loop Drive area.
Acting on the report, deputies identified a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s car and conducted a traffic stop on Highway 111 near the intersection of Turkey Branch Road, close to Beulaville. During the stop, deputies took four people into custody and charged them with various offenses.
Anthony McCoy was charged with two felony counts of possession of a firearm by a felon. Trinity Smith was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of marijuana up to 1/2 oz. Prince Thompson faced charges for communicating threats and resisting a public officer. Nykia Hodges was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possessing drug paraphernalia.
During the investigation, deputies seized multiple handguns, numerous rounds of ammunition, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. All four suspects were transported to the Duplin County Jail.
