Inside the Cage: FTX’s Bankman-Fried Reveals Unlikely Bond with Diddy Behind Bars

Sam Bankman-Fried, the crypto fraudster behind FTX, now serving 25 years at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, recently opened up about his jail friendships—even with controversial music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is also imprisoned at the same facility facing charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. In a candid interview with Tucker Carlson, Bankman-Fried described the detention center as a “weird environment” but noted that Combs has been surprisingly kind, despite the rough crowd that includes ex-gangsters and other high-profile defendants.

Bankman-Fried, who built his fortune at a young age before FTX’s collapse in 2022 revealed one of history’s largest frauds, maintained his innocence on numerous fraud charges. Meanwhile, Combs, 55, whose legal troubles have similarly rocked his empire following a 2023 lawsuit alleging decades of abuse, continues to deny all allegations against him.

Both men now share their confinement at the Metropolitan Detention Center, where Bankman-Fried’s unusual friendship with Combs stands out in an environment few ever choose.
