Bizarre Heist: Florida Duo’s Unbelievable Distraction Tactic Stuns Authorities

Here’s a story that’s as bizarre as it gets — and it happened in Florida, of course. Two people came up with a… let’s call it a “creative” plan to pull off a store theft, and it’s left both the authorities and the internet shaking their heads.

It all went down on Dec. 18, 2024, at a Family Dollar store in Mulberry, Florida. According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the pair — later identified as Tina Joyce, 57, and Nikevee Curry, 36 — each had a very unique role in their alleged crime.

While Curry filled up a cart with about $500 worth of cleaning supplies like Tide, Gain, and Clorox, Joyce decided to create a distraction. And by distraction, we mean she relieved herself — right there on the store floor. Yep, you read that right. An employee even had to clean it up afterward.

The duo made a run for it in a white Ford van, and the sheriff’s office had some fun with their descriptions. They dubbed Curry “Mr. Clean” and Joyce “Ms. Dookie” — names that the internet won’t forget anytime soon.

Surveillance footage caught both suspects in action, and the sheriff’s office shared the story in a January post full of hashtags like #HeMadeACleanGetaway and #SheCantReallySayTheSame.

Fast forward to February: Joyce was arrested and charged with felony petit theft, released on $5,000 bail. Curry, on the other hand, remains wanted for the theft — though he was arrested a few days after the Family Dollar incident for an unrelated battery charge and is currently in custody in Hillsborough County.

The investigation’s still ongoing, but one thing’s for sure — this is a crime story people won’t stop talking about anytime soon.
