An AMBER alert in Florence, South Carolina, has ended with relief after a missing baby girl was found safe.
The alert was issued for 1-year-old Dylan Saige Cooper, who was taken by 32-year-old Macie Eaddy on Thursday evening. They were last spotted at a Roses store on South Irby Street in Florence around 6 p.m. Authorities believed they might be traveling in a white 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer with a temporary South Carolina license plate, XWR0804H.
Baby Dylan, described as having blonde hair, blue eyes, and a cute dimple on her left cheek, was the focus of a widespread search. Meanwhile, Eaddy, described as five-foot-five with brown hair and brown eyes, was last seen wearing army green pants, a black sweatshirt, and pink shoes.
The story took a hopeful turn early Friday morning. Around 6:50 a.m., someone discovered little Dylan abandoned outside a home in Timmonsville, South Carolina. Thankfully, she appeared to be in good health, though it’s unclear how long she had been left alone.
Just 10 minutes later, at about 7 a.m., deputies in Sumter County located and arrested Eaddy. She was taken to the Sumter County Detention Center. According to the Florence Police Department, Eaddy is likely to face charges both locally and in Florence County.
This incident shook the community but ended with a sigh of relief as Dylan was safely recovered. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her abduction and are working to ensure justice is served.
