Late Sunday night in Atlanta, a quiet moment turned into a dangerous scene on Lisbon Drive SW. A man was sitting in his car enjoying some food he had just picked up when things took a terrifying turn.
At about 12:44 a.m., officers were called to 1836 Lisbon Drive SW after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot. Thankfully, he was still alert and conscious. Emergency responders from Grady EMS quickly took him to the hospital for treatment.
The initial investigation suggests the attack wasn’t random. While the man was in his car, a vehicle approached from the opposite direction. Without warning, someone inside that vehicle started shooting. But the victim wasn’t alone—another person in his car fired back at the suspect vehicle. After the exchange of gunfire, both vehicles left the area.
