A road rage incident in Philadelphia led to a shooting in which a man opened fire on two individuals, ages 15 and 20. The Philadelphia Police Department reported that the shooting occurred on Monday, March 10, at the intersection of 42nd and Girard Avenue.
According to authorities, the suspect, described as a man between 40 and 45 years old, was driving a silver 2016 or 2017 Honda Civic. Surveillance footage from multiple cameras in the area captured parts of the altercation. In one video, the suspect is seen yelling at a black-colored vehicle next to him. Later, at a stoplight, he is seen firing a gun out of his vehicle before driving away.
The victims included a 15-year-old boy who sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm and a 20-year-old woman who suffered a graze wound to her chest. Following the incident, the teenage boy was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, while the woman arrived at Lankenau Medical Center in a private vehicle. Both victims were reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities have not yet made any arrests or recovered the weapon used in the shooting. The Philadelphia Police Department released details about the suspect’s vehicle, noting that it has body damage on both front quarter panels, a missing passenger-side front hubcap, and a white vanity tag on the front bumper. Officials urged the public not to approach the suspect but to contact 911 immediately if they encounter him. The shooting was one of at least five separate incidents in Philadelphia between Monday night and Tuesday morning, resulting in seven people being injured. Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore noted that the city’s clearance rate for solving cases has improved due to advancements in technology and video evidence. Law enforcement remains hopeful that the recent cases, including this road rage shooting, will be solved soon.
